Smith Consulting Architects has managed the programming, design, and construction of multiple projects for Gen-Probe. Gen-Probe Blood Bank involved a 98,000 square foot building that included diagnostic kit manufacturing, clean rooms, labs, and extensive central plant / utility distribution. Gen-Probe Building 2 was a 291,000 square foot shell and tenant improvement project. Designed as a flex-use facility, the two-story building accommodates a variety of administration and office functions, research and development laboratories, future product manufacturing, and finished product warehouse requirements. The project's high performance design achieved SDG&E "Savings By Design" incentives of $189,000.
